Pointe D'Esny can be enjoyed year-round, but the very best conditions tend to fall between May and December, when the southeast trade winds keep the air pleasantly fresh and the skies a deep, photogenic blue. The austral summer months of January to March bring occasional tropical showers and slightly stronger winds, but even then the beach retains its charm. Mornings are generally the calmest time of day, and arriving early means you'll often have long stretches of sand almost entirely to yourself.
Pointe D'Esny is located approximately 40 kilometres southeast of Port Louis and around 10 kilometres from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, making it one of the most conveniently located beaches on the island for arriving visitors. It is easily reached by rental car or taxi, and the coastal road offers lovely views on the approach. The nearest town, Mahebourg, is just a few minutes away by road and has plenty of amenities.
